A pair of cranes in painted metal, one tall and one short. They are made to stand together, so the taller bird leads and the smaller one follows a step behind.
Sizes, so there are no surprises. The big bird is 10.5 inches high, 8 inches long and 3 inches wide (26.7 x 20.3 x 7.6 cm). The small bird is 8 inches high, 7.5 inches long and 3 inches wide (20.3 x 19 x 7.6 cm). Together the two weigh 350 g. Both arrive in one pack.
Each bird is shaped from metal and stands on its own round base. The surface is powder coated first, then hand-painted, then sealed under a lacquer layer. The gold tone you see is paint, not brass. The bodies carry ochre and gold-colour feather scallops, a white dotted border and small red flower dots. Because the painting is done by hand, no two sets are quite identical, and screens show colour a little differently too.
They are light. The pair comes to 350 g, so you can lift both in one hand when you dust the shelf. Each bird is only 3 inches wide, which is the useful part: they fit a narrow console, the edge of a TV unit, a bookshelf, an office desk or a reception counter where a heavier showpiece would not sit.
Care is simple. Keep them indoors and dry. Wipe with a soft dry cloth. No harsh cleaners. Set them on a level surface, and when you move them, lift from the body or the base rather than the slender legs.
A graceful gift for a housewarming, griha pravesh, wedding, anniversary, Diwali hamper or a corporate order. In decor traditions a crane pair is associated with harmony, long life and steady companionship. That is a cultural association, not a promised result.
