A WHITE AND GOLD KRISHNA WITH HIS COW
Lord Krishna stands with one leg crossed over the other, playing his flute, and leans gently against a calm white cow. The white finish is soft and clean, and it lets the colour stand out: a gold crown with a green peacock feather, gold jewellery, a red garland, a yellow dhoti and a small peacock at his shoulder. The cow wears gold ornaments of her own.
WHAT IT IS MADE OF
The idol is cast in resin and finished in white, with the gold, red, yellow and green painted on. It is not carved marble, and it is not brass or metal. The gold is paint, not plating.
ONE SOLID PIECE
Krishna, the cow and the round lotus pedestal are a single casting. There is nothing to assemble and no screws to fit. At about 880 g it has a reassuring weight in the hand.
SIZE AND PLACEMENT
The idol measures 10 inches tall, 6 inches across and 4 inches deep. The flat round base sits steadily on a mandir shelf, a pooja chowki, a console table or an office desk. It is a tabletop idol, so it is too large for a car dashboard.
TRADITIONAL MEANING
Gopal and Govind are names of Krishna that recall his childhood in Vrindavan as the young cowherd. His flute is often understood as a call to devotion, and the cow is honoured in Indian homes as a symbol of care and gentleness. That is religious symbolism, not a promise of any outcome.
GIFTING AND CARE
It makes a warm gift for Janmashtami, Diwali, a griha pravesh or a wedding. The flute, the feather and the cow’s horns are fine details, so unwrap and check the idol before you hand it over. Dust with a soft, dry cloth, avoid water and cleaning sprays, and keep it away from lit diyas and direct heat. Lift it by the pedestal, never by the flute or the crown.
In the box: 1 Krishna with cow idol. Material: Resin. Colour: White with gold. Country of origin: India. The diyas, flowers, plants, books, bells, incense and furniture in the lifestyle photographs are styling props and are not included.
